Aima Noor-ul Ain Baig known as Aima Baig (Urdu: آئمہ بیگpronounced [aɪmaː beːg]; born 10 March 1995) is a Pakistani singer and model, known for her soundtracks in films and television, including Lahore Se AageyTeefa in Trouble, and Chupan Chupai. She has also notably appeared in Mazaaq RaatCoke Studio Pakistan, and the ceremonial occasions of Pakistan Super League, and has been awarded three Lux Style Awards and a Tamgha-e-Fakhre-Imtiaz.

Early life

Born in 1995 in Rahim Yar Khan, Pakistan, Aima Baig was raised in Oman. Her father is an electrical engineer. She has two sisters and two brothers, and she is the fourth child herself. She completed her Bachelor of Film and Television from School of Creative Arts, University of Lahore. Her sister Komal Baig serves as her manager.

Career

She started her mainstream career by appearing in Mazaaq Raat during 2015–2017 on Dunya News, where she was a co-host and performed a few songs as well. She rose to fame from her playback songs for Saba Qamar in 2016 film Lahore Se Aagey, one of which was “Kalabaaz Dil” for which she earned her first Lux Style Award.

In 2018, she was also a playback for Maya Ali in Teefa in Trouble, and “Sadqa” in Chupan Chupai, latter of which also earned her a Lux Style Award. In August 2019, she was awarded Tamgha-e-Fakhre-Imtiaz.

She went on to sing the theme songs for many television serials, including Ishq Aatish Hai, Romeo Weds Heer, Ehd-e-Wafa, Raaz-e-Ulfat, “O Zalim” from Fitrat, and “Ja Tujhe Maaf Kiya” from Do Bol. She also appeared in three seasons of Coke Studio Pakistan during 2017–2019, and her collaborations with Sahir Ali Bagga were well received, including “Baazi”, “Malang”, and “Dhola”, from each season respectively.

She also performed in two seasons of Velo Sound Station, respectively in 2020 and 2023, and she was awarded PISA’s Singer of the Year 2020 for singing “Te Quiero Mucho”. She has also performed in several fashion shows, modeling brands, and television commercials. She was the most streamed female artist of Pakistan in 2021 on Spotify.

Aima Baig has also been a part of numerous occasions of Pakistan Super League. She was the co-singer for its three title songs; “Groove Mera” in 2021, “Agay Dekh” in 2022, and “Khul Ke Khel” in 2024. She has also represented two regional teams in the league; Quetta Gladiators in 2018 and Peshawar Zalmi in 2025. 

She has also performed in the inaugural of 2023 Asia Cup at Multan Cricket Stadium, and prior to the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy at the inaugural of the renovated Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Personal life

In March 2021, Aima Baig announced her engagement to Shahbaz Shigri; they had been dating since they met while filming Parey Hut Love. However, in September 2022, she confirmed that the couple had broken up, though they stay friends. The breakup was caused due to a cheating scandal with British Filmaker Qes Ahmed.

By 2022, Aima Baig has got 19 tattoos. In 2023, she revealed she suffered with rheumatoid arthritis in 2019, after which she is no more able to move her right hand middle finger.

On 6 August 2025, Baig announced her marriage to Mirza Zain Ahmad, the creative director of streetwear brand Rastah. He is the great-grandson of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founding figure of the Ahmadiyya movement.

Style and influence

Aima Baig is known for her Western-inspired singing, and how she blends it with the contemporary music. She has been a subject for her resemblance with Ariana Grande, whom she is inspired with. She is also considered as an experimenting singer, and she shared she covered Kaifi Khalil’s “Kahani Suno 2.0” with his permission because it had motivated her in her low times.

She claimed fellow singer Momina Mustehsan is her best friend, and Nehaal Naseem has copied her style. Singer Sara Raza Khan also criticized her for using an autotune, which she denied, though it sparked a social media feud.

In 2017, Aima Baig’s mother lost to cancer after battling for six years. Since then, she has dedicated her life for cancer patients and has been actively participating in charity events for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. She had also performed the cover of “Summer Wine” with the journalist Mubasher Lucman.

Album

In July 2023, Aima Baig released first single “Funkari” from her upcoming debut album, potentially named Chapter 1, for which she took a break from playback singing and collaborations, but continued her concert tours.
