Early life and family
Rajab Butt was born on 28 December 1994 in Lahore, Punjab, into a Punjabi Shia Muslim family belonging to the Butt caste. He has a sister named Ghazal Jawad.
YouTube and online career
Rajab Butt registered his account on YouTube under the username “Rajab’s Family” on 11 March 2023 with his video theme being centered around family vlogging. In March 2024 and April 2024, he received the Silver Play Button and Golden Play Button, respectively.

Rajab Butt’s rise to fame was not without controversy, with him being criticised for mistreating his family members. He has also received backlash from conservatives for showing indecency and lavishness in his videos.
His wedding was, particularly, highlighted in which he came under fire for flashy display of large sums of wealth. In the aftermath of the wedding, Butt was arrested for illegally owning a lion cub that was gifted to him during the event.
March 2025 blasphemy case
In March 2025, Butt uploaded a video in which he launched his perfume brand named “295”, drawing parallel to his “mentor” Sidhu Moose Wala‘s song “295”. The number “295” also refers to the blasphemy law in the Pakistan Penal Code.
In the video, Butt proudly proclaimed that Moose Wala had been charged with similar blasphemous laws and he himself also got charged with it. This video generated considerable controversy in Pakistan.

Members of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), a far-right terrorist organization, registered a first information report (FIR) against Butt under Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code. Butt fled from Lahore to Saudi Arabia and issued an apology video from the Kaaba in Mecca. After more than a month, he returned to Pakistan in May 2025.
July 2025 blasphemy case
In July 2025, in the wake of Muharram, during which Shia Muslims mourn on Ashura, Butt uploaded a series of videos regarding the Shia mourning of Muharram.

During this time, a video of Butt went viral in which he said “Curse me upon Yazid’s ancestors”, directing a curse at Yazid’s father Muawiya, who is honored by Sunni Muslims as a companion of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. Supporters of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) filed a case against him in the National Cyber Crime Agency.

Rajab Butt played the role of Bilal in the 2017 drama serial Rani. In February 2025, Butt starred in Hamza Malik’s song “Over You” in a collaboration with actress Hira Mani. The song received substantive backlash for containing religious references.
